St. Patricks Dinner

We decided to do our St. Patricks Day dinner a day early so we did it on Monday. Mostly because I forgot it was Spring Break and that Jon would be home and I had already made plans with my Aetna girls. Anway. I went to Harmons and bought some yummy bread and some Irish Butter which is really creamy. However, I was disappointed to find that it was made in Illinois. Oh, well. We also had corn beef and cabbage (of course) and potatoes. It was so yummy and we loved eating it.

U of U Women's Gymnastics

Last night, I was invited to attend a University of Utah women's gymnatics meet by my friend Jamie. She had free tickets and asked if I would go with her. I had never been to a live gymnastic meet before so I jumped at the chance to go and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. It's alot different live from watching it on tv. It was absolutely amazing to watch these girls and the things that they could accomplish. They are truly powerful and amazingly strong. They also have a great deal of team spirit. After each girl finished their event, then all the other girls would run up to her and give her a hug and words of encouragement. I am so glad I went and think I have found another sport that I could watch faithfully. It may not be as exciting as the Utes football or basketball. It's not like the Huntsman Center was sold out or anything. But it was still very interesting to watch.

Just When You Think You Have Heard It All......

I don't usually post this kind of stuff, but I found this article on MSN.com and could not get over it. Not that I'm making fun of this lady in any way, I just found it kind of funny.

Woman has 911 meltdown over McNuggets

FORT PIERCE, Fla. - Authorities say a Florida woman called 911 three times after McDonald's employees told her they were out of Chicken McNuggets.
A police report says 27-year-old Fort Pierce resident Latreasa L. Goodman told authorities she paid for a 10-piece last week but was later informed the restaurant had run out.
She says she was refused a refund and told all sales were final. A cashier told police she offered Goodman a larger portion of different food for the same price, but Goodman became irate.

"This is an emergency. If I would have known they didn't have McNuggets, I wouldn’t have given my money, and now she wants to give me a McDouble, but I don’t want one," Goodman told police, according to The Stuart News. "This is an emergency."
Police say Goodman was cited on a misuse of 911 charge. A current phone listing for Goodman couldn't be found.
A McDonald's spokesman says Goodman should have been given a refund, and she's being sent a gift card for a free meal.

Homework and Dixie

We have a very jealous dog. If we are doing something and not paying attention to her, she will do whatever she can to let us know she wants our attention. For example, if I am sitting on the couch cross stitching, she will get in my lap and not move. Even if Jon tries to get her to play with him. Here is another example:

That's right.....Jon is on his laptop doing his homework and Dixie decided she needed his attention too. And believe me, it's not easy to work on a computer when you have a 5 lb yorkie in your way. Not sure how things will be when we have kids. That should be pretty interesting.

Spring has Sprung

Even though it is still technically February, the weather has been unusually warm for part of the month. So some of our flowers have started coming up. This last week or so, we noticed our crocuses have started to bloom. These are just a few of them, but we have at least 20 or so out there. And they look so cute! I can't wait for the tulips and daffodils.

Laundry and Dixie

Whenever I take a load of clothes out of the dryer, I put them on my bed and then I go back to reload the washer and dryer. When I come back, this is what I find......

Dixie snuggles into the pile of clothes and makes her self comfortable. She will keep laying there as I am folding the laundry and grabbing piece's out from under her. Then she acts annoyed when her warm place is gone. For some reason, she thinks she is queen of the house.

FUN!!!

Found this on a friends blog...had to pass it on! It could be fun!!Lucky you! The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!2- What I create will be just for you.3- It'll be done this year. (might be a little while)4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may draw or paint something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! Don't spoil the fun!
